Well Brave adventurer
here you are, on your very first adventure. Before you get started
make sure you have your AD&D character handy that you plan on playing.
Also if you have any gold feel free to use it to buy equipment from the
local merchants in town. You can basically buy things out of the
AD&D players handbook. You may especially want to purchase a
weapon and some armor. Also you may find the adventure difficult
so you may want to bring along a friend... i.e.. another character, that
is unless you think you can handle it solo. Any way enough chit chat let
the adventure begin!
You are sitting in a small booth, just inside the main door of the Dragon Spit Tavern. The tavern is small but very comfortable. Small lamps hang from the walls and the ceiling to illuminate the tavern, even with all the lamps there still seems to be a fair bit of shadows and dark areas. The room is a bustle full of people of all kinds, men and women, dwarves, elves, gnomes, even halflings. Maids run around from the bar or kitchen out into the sea of faces and tables to serve drinks and meals to all the people. Over to the right of were you sit is the bar. In front of it sits several different races on tall bar stools. A very large man stands behind the bar counter cleaning some ale mugs. You know the bar tenders name to be Argeleb, and by his size you'd say he is a bit more than just a normal man.
You sit in the bar having a long pull from your mug of ale as a younger man and woman enter the bar and approach you. The man maybe in his early 20's is slender and about 5 and a half feet in height. Having short brown hair, and being very well groomed. The woman even more slender than the man looks to be the same in age as he and is about 5 feet in height. She has her dark hair long flowing past her shoulders.
They come up to your table and softly you hear the man speak.
Man: Good day sir, my name is John and this is my wife Joslen. We are in desperate need of a hero!
Joslen: We were just married not 2 days ago and have purchased a home atop the hill for us to start a family in. But there is some thing terribly wrong.
Joslen starts to cry softly and her husband John puts and arm around her and comforts her a bit.
John: You see only a day after we purchased our new home we started hearing noises. not little mouse noises or any thing, but frightening noises. Noises that chilled us to our bones. And we fear for our lives in our new house.
Joslen: That is why we moved out to mothers.
John: And why we need your help. Now we cant give you much if you can make our house safe again but...
Joslen: But there is an old chest up in the attic left from the last owner, and you may have it as payment.
John: As well as what ever is in side the chest. Joslen and I will be here at the Tavern for the rest of the day so if you except and help us, and make our house safe again you can come back here to see us again.
Joslen & John:
Until then we bid you far thee well
Joslen and John slowly turn and walk off to a far off corner of the Tavern and sit at a small booth similar to the one you sit in now. They need a hero, Can you be that HERO?
